FAQ's
What is the DC-DC Converter?
A dc-dc converter is electronic circuit. The main function of this circuit is to modify one potential difference (i.e., voltage) level to another potential difference level. It is basically a voltage regulator consisting of switches, inductor, and capacitor for power conversion.
What's the difference between Isolated and Non-Isolated Power Converters?
Isolated converters are constructed with the input and output circuits galvanically isolated, there is no dc path between the input and output. These converters are often used to separate the input and output circuits for either electrical noise or dangerous voltage isolation. (Figure 1)
Non-isolated converters have a dc connection between the input and output through the common ground between the input and output circuits. This class of converters can be made smaller and less expensive than isolated converters. (Figure 2)
How do I know which DC-DC Converter I need for my application?
What is the DC-DC Battery Charger?
A dc-dc battery charger is also called battery to battery charger, as the name suggests, the main purpose is to transfer power from primary battery to auxiliary(home/cars) batteries, thus maintaining the secondary battery 100% fully charged all the time. Usually auxiliary batteries are the source of power for our lives usage.
When you live in a vehicles like travel trailer, RV, campervan, caravan and yacht, you will usually install a dual battery system. One battery is called the starting battery and another called the auxiliary battery. The starting battery supports the driving of the vehicle and the auxiliary battery serves as a life power source.
